Cozy elegance was on full display at Erin and Dustin's intimate woodland destination wedding celebration at Armstrong Farms, about an hour outside of Pittsburgh in Saxonburg, Western Pennsylvania.
The couple envisioned exchanging vows surrounded by nature while also being able to accommodate a long weekend stay for family and friends, so the rolling hills of Armstrong Farms proved the ideal venue. Bright blue skies set the scene for LNS Studios to capture the meaningful moments of a day that perfectly captured their personalities and their love.
Erin and Dustin readied for the big day in the bed and breakfast onsite along with their wedding parties. While Erin and the ladies were pampered by Emily van Scoy and Co. , the boys had an epic video game session.
Erin was a vision in her sophisticated gown featuring a romantic lace bodice and button detailing all the way down the back. Dustin complemented his bride's elegant look in a sharp three-piece navy suit with eye-catching glen plaid pattern. Committed to an eco-friendly affair, the couple selected sustainable wood flower bouquets and boutonnieres, with creamy roses accentuated by wispy dusty miller and eucalyptus fronds.
The ceremony, led by one of Dusty’s sisters, started with a laugh as the flower people entered on scooters, scattering their wood petals from festive fanny packs. It quickly turned heart-felt as Erin and Dustin shared their personally written vows before family and friends against the original stone wall of a fully restored 1860s barn.
For the magical reception, string lights twinkled overhead while guests sat at tables marked by the warm glow of vintage glass lanterns. Guests shifted from laughter at the best man’s warm joking to hardly a dry eye in the building as Dusty’s father signed his deep and sincere compliments and best wishes for the newlyweds.
This laid-back couple had very few specific “must haves” on the list, but those turned out to be highlights of the night: to share the day with their beloved pup, the famed Pittsburgh Cookie Table, Dusty’s favorite southern-style chicken sandwiches for a late night snack, and a custom brewed beer. Specially designed pint glasses commemorated the joyous occasion as favors for guests.
It was pure delight to help plan and bring to life Dustin and Erin’s thoughtfully created woodland wedding as a perfect representation of this lovely couple!
